Q1. We’re glad to have this interview with you! Can you let the Japanese fans know who you are?
Yo Japan! Watashi wa Evan Kendricks!
I’ve been a music producer for quite some time now but I’m still pretty new in the trance scene. My debut tracks “Homebase” and “New Fire” have been on High contrast records, and I’ve got a lot more high energy trance tracks coming up in the near future!
Q2. At what point did you decide to pursue a career in trance music?
Well, I’ve always had a thing with trance. It was the sound that I grew up with. The trance type of sound always found it’s way back to my music, whatever genre I was producing at that time.
In 2016 my girlfriend convinced me to go to “A State of Trance Festival” here in Holland.
That night was so epic! The music was so good, the people were so friendly, being there that night convinced me that I should start making trance music!
Q3. Tell us about The Homecoming EP and the inspiration behind it.
Producing these tracks and putting together this EP really felt like I was on my way home.
Calling it The Homecoming EP is symbolic for the feeling that the music gives me. On the cover of the EP you see me opening a door. (The door to a new chapter quite literally, haha!)
Q4. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?
That would be one of the tracks that I’ve just finished in my studio. These tracks probably won’t come out until next year, but I’ve got so much new stuff I’m really excited about!
I honestly can’t wait to play these tunes in a set!
Q5. Are there any artists in particular you would love to collab with?
I would really love to share some studio time with David Gravell. He is one of the superstars of tomorrow, and he has that high energy vibe in his tunes that I really aim for in my tracks. I think it would be a really nice fit!
Q6. What would Japanese fans be surprised to learn about you?
I’m addicted to sushi. Not even kidding. I LOVE SUSHI. Would that be a surprise though? Japanese kitchen is delicious… It shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone!
