We still clearly remember when Orjan Nilsen rocked the crowd in ageHa Tokyo last year when they delivered Armada Night event. In the past he has went all the way up to #32 in DJ MAG TOP 100 DJs ranking and he still remains to be one of the leading artists in the Trance scene. Let’s hear from an artist who expresses himself as “dedicated”, “hardworking” and “energetic” artist.

Q1. Congratulations on your " The Hardest Part" release. Can you tell us more about it?

For a long time I've had a good friendship with a writer/producer in Vancouver named Mike James, he showed me "The Hardest Part" and I just instantly fell in love with Rykka's voice, so excited about this finally getting out there! I have been playing it in my live sets for months now and the hype is huge, people msg me on Facebook and twitter asking what is the name of this song! Armin picked it up for his A State of Trance 2017 compilation and it will also be a part of my forthcoming album!

Q2. How is your 2017 so far?

It's good, I'm busy with wrapping up an album, I have so many tracks lined up, but just need a few more tweaks. I’ve experimenting so much and I am so happy with what I’ve been able to achieve so far. I’m having a crazy schedule for the summer, so I can not wait to test everything while on the road.

Q3. What are your plans for the Summer?

Definitely need to work hard on finishing the album. With a schedule so full that’s going to be a challenge, but I am working very hard to deliver. Very excited to return to huge events such as Tomorrowland, Ultra and Electronic Family. Very excited to play at the first New Horizons event in Germany, which will be hosted at a Formula 1 Track!

Q4. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?

My own track “Iconic, because I'll be slayed and lynched if I don't pick it, plus I love the track myself! Second one would be Dazepark - Rift, because I just love the funkyness in it, it really goes down massively on the dance floor!

Q5. Can you pick 1 or 2 of your favourite dance artists at the moment?

I’ve mentioned the young Australian talent Exis quite a few in recent times, his music has been on fire and I am sure his future will be very bright. Other favorites have been my good friends MaRLo & David Gravell, so much energy in their music!

Q6. What do you think will be the next trend in electronic music?

I don't know to be honest, I'm a bit of a lone wolf just trying to carve my own musical path, so I don't spend too much time trying to predict the future. I just listen to a LOT of music and from so many different genres and that allows me to have more fun in the studio doing my own stuff.

Q7. What would Japanese fans be surprised to learn about you?

In the spirit of looking young I’d guess the surprise would be that today I am turning 35 years old!

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

Hello Japan, I'd like to take this moment to let you know that i truly appreciate the support f rom you guys. I really look forward to returning to Japan very soon! We had so much fun last time!

Orjan Nilsen rocked Armada Night in Tokyo with Andrew Rayel and Rodg last year. Since his release of “Red Woods” from Armada, he has officially signed a contract joining the members of the top labels in the scene and continues to climb up the ladder pursuing his original art. He hopes to return to Japan soon again and party with the crowd even harder next time. Stay tuned to his coming updates and have a listen to his new release “The Hardest Part”
