Ever since signing with one of the most influential record labels in the scene, Spinnin’ Records in 2013, Sam Feldt has continuously released hit tracks like “Been A While” and “Shadows of Love”. In earlier days, he has also officially remixed R3hab or Quintino’s tracks and his production ability soon reached out to a bigger crowd. Let’s hear about the stories behind his new album “Sunset”.

Q1. Congratulations on DJ MAG TOP 100 DJS #75 spot. How do you feel about this?

Thanks guys, and thanks for having me for this interview! It’s awesome to see that so many people voted again for me this year and I’m very happy with the results. I did not do a big promo campaign this year, so it feels good that I was still able to climb 12 places just by releasing music.

Q2. Congratulations on the new release of your album "Sunset". Can you tell us the story behind this album?

Sunset is my second album and together with Sunrise (released one month ago) it makes up the full album Sunrise to Sunset that’s now available everywhere. The album contains 24 tracks in total, which stand for the amount of hours we have in a day (one track for every hour). The idea behind this is that Sam Feldt music can be enjoyed at any time of the day, both during hours of Sunrise and Sunset! Also, I am 24 years old at the moment and the album is released on the 24th of November so that makes the story complete!

Q3. Which track would be your favourite from the album and why?

That’s a very hard question to answer. I’ve worked on the album for more than two years and every song on the album has it’s own cool and personal story. Looking at our live show, my favourite track to play would be Sensational - a track I made together with the full Sam Feldt Live Band. When we play it live, the energy goes through the roof!

Q4. Was there anything you kept in mind to surprise the fans with this album?

I think both album are full of surprises and really symbolize the diversity Sam Feldt music stands for! From collaborations with reggae artist Shaggy to singer-songwriters like Joshua Radin, I think the album could not have been more diverse and surprising! Can’t wait to hear what you guys think of it!

Q5. Please share us your upcoming events. Any special gigs or projects?

I’m currently in the USA for my “From Sunrise To Sunset” tour, on my way to Los Angeles. Also coming up this year: Brazil, Switzerland, China, Mexico and more USA!

Q6. Please leave a message to your Japanese fans.

Guys and girls, thanks for all the support so far! I miss you and I can’t wait to come back to Japan soon!

The young talent is praised as the “new generation superstar in the house scene” by Billboard and many of the top artists would also agree to this. Ultra Music Festival, Snowbombing, Coachella are only some of the greatest festivals he has performed this summer and he also works on releasing tracks through his radio show “Heartfeldt Radio”. He’s still available on tour in a few countries so catch him if he’s swinging by to your country and finish off the year with a blast.
