Danny Avila returns to DJ MAG TOP 100 DJs. Being voted as the world’s #52 DJ/Producer, the young talent proves once again as one of the hottest young talents chosen by Tiesto himself. Playing as the resident for the biggest clubs on the island Ibiza, Pacha, Space Ibiza, HAKKASAN and performing for Ultra Music Festival in Miami since 2013, Danny Avila is awarded as the Best Newcomer DJ.

Q1. Congratulations on DJ Mag's highest re-entry in the DJ Mag Top100 DJ's poll at no. 52! Please let me know how you feel about it?

Thanks for the kind words! I’m still feeling a bit overwhelmed about the whole thing, but it feels good. I have worked super hard this year, but as an artist you’re never quite sure when you’re going to start seeing it pays off, so I’m kind of half- surprised half- over the moon about it. The best part is knowing that people are actually enjoying what I’m putting out there. I don’t do what I do purely for myself – I’m trying to actively spread enjoyment to my fans, so seeing my name up there in the DJ Mag Top100 lets me know that I’m giving back, too. It works both ways.

Q2. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

The NERVO girls and I have always got on well, so we decided after a while to put that chemistry into a track that we all felt was representative of our relationship. The three of us have played Ushuaïa Ibiza two years in a row now plus some other gigs, so often when we see each other it’s a big party and things get pretty crazy. ‘LOCO’ captures some of the energy of those times! It’s a really fun one to play out, too.

Q3. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?

Axwell & Ingrosso - How Do You Feel Right Now
I have been playing this song since it first came out earlier this summer. I feel like it’s a perfect combination between a festival and club track. I can play it at any show, no matter if it’s a big or a small show.

Mark Villa – Venture
The reason why I chose this track is similar to the first one. It sounds really big but with a cool vibe that allows it to be played at every show. I made a few edits with this track that I always play at my shows. It works just amazing!

Q4. Which other DJs or producers are inspiring you right now?

I’ve got a pretty broad spectrum of influences and I’m adding to the list all the time. I’ve said it before, but Tiësto is one of my all-time heroes and he’s backed me for a while now – he never ceases to inspire me. More recently, I’ve been following Don Diablo and his music, especially his label Hexagon. They release a lot of really fresh music right now. Also I’ve been into a few new guys who are making really cool music like Sikdope, Toby Green and others.

Q5. What do you have coming up in the future?

Right now I’ve got some important bits coming up with Sony International but as always I can’t say too much. I’m super excited about these ones though and can’t wait to show you soon! I’m also looking towards 2018 and hoping to kick-start some major projects I’ve never touched on before - I’m focusing on keeping things fresh and interesting for you guys.

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

I’m continuously overwhelmed by the support I receive from my Japanese fans – I want to say THANK YOU for all your support throughout the years I’ve been playing in Japan. Some of the best shows I’ve ever played have happened in Tokyo and you just can’t beat the energy of the crowds there. Sayounara! See you all very soon!!

Danny Avila continues to raise the standards of next generation DJ/Producers. 2017 was a busy year for the talent travelling around the world for festivals, club shows, recording, production etc. Performing in front of the huge crowd at Ultra Music Festival and TomorrowWorld are only some of the highlights of his summer with couple more residencies. Danny Avila is set to finish off the year with more shows and face 2018 with a new project he’s excited about. Stay tuned to the young talent and his new release ‘LOCO’.
