Da Hool, a German DJ/Producer is recognised for one of the pioneers in establishing the so-called “Techno-Underground” in late 80s. He has been releasing massive tracks since the 90s until today and heavily contributed in shaping the industry. The remix “The Funk Phenomena” of Armand van Helden was released in 2003 and was awarded for the most played track in the English scene. The release year after “Hool vs Bruckheimer - In the Beginning” was most frequently played in Ibiza that year and made a huge impact on the fans. Let us share the interview with such legendary figure and his upcoming plans to support the industry.

Q1. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

Own the Night is definetly not like my other productions and i am sure that it will suprise some people, who expect the more banging style of Da Hool,  but i really wanted to do a chilling slow tempo song like this for a long time. Lots of things inspire me. It can be different music i hear somewhere on radio, club or festivals or sometimes i am at the airport or i do sports for example and suddenly i have an idea or melody in my mind...

Q2. What do you feel has been your biggest achievement?

Well i think my biggest archievement in my life is the fact that my hobby and passion became my profession. Music ! The biggest success in my music career was definetly my track "Meet her at the Love Parade" which made me well known around the globe

Q3. What do you think will be the next trend in electronic music?

It's a difficult question. It seems that electronic music is going a bit slowlier at the moment and more and more of the artists are producing their tracks in a songstructure with a high compatibillity to radio and airplay, but i am sure that all the dance genres we know will keep alive....

Q4. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?

Besides all the new music i play i have a lot of bootlegs and unreleased contemporary versions of older songs in my set and there are two great unreleased mash ups of Meet her at the Love Parade and Depeche Mode's - Enjoy the Silence  which are making the crowd going crazy...

Q5. What do you have coming up in the future?

I just have finished the new Da Hool single and i am working on the new album coming on Armada next year.

Q6. Can you give some advice for the amateur DJs. How did you acquire your DJ skills during you amateur years?

Always believe and trust in yourself !!  Never give up even if everything is not getting successful! Work work work hard for your thing and someday it will happen !

Q7. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

"Hello Japan, hopefully we can see us in Japan soon :)"
