MaRLo is now one of the hottest Trance DJ/Producers in the scene and hit talent is respected by one and only Armin van Buuren. Even if was not present in any of the music festivals around the world, his tracks are played worldwide and his production is getting into another level. MaRLo was last seen in ageHa in Tokyo and his tracks “Darkside” has reached No.1 as soon as it released and from there it is all history.
Q1. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.
It's the first track on my new label "Reaching Altitude". The track is called "The Launch" in order to LAUNCH the new label into space.
Q2. How was your summer?
It was absolutely amazing! I played at some of the biggest festivals in the world like Tomorrowland and EDC and many many more, the whole summer was just beautiful. It was really nice that my wife and baby came with me to Europe as well, we got to have a few days holiday in Ibiza together in between shows.
Q3. Which other DJs or producers are inspiring you right now?
Actually a lot of the new artists on my own label that not many people know yet, but soon will. It's amazing to hear fresh new ideas to music from the next generation of producers.
Q4. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?
This changes every week! Right now it's "Bobby Neon - The Shadows", and my own track "MaRLo-The Launch"
Q5. Can you give some advice for the amateur DJs. How did you acquire your DJ skills during you amateur years?
The actual technical aspect of DJ'ing is the easy part. It's very important to read your audience and adjust your set according to the crowd, your set time and the general vibe. Also - start learning how to produce as soon as possible! Making your own music is key to being succesful as a DJ these days.
Q6. How do you learn to create tracks and the production process itself?
Practice every day for a few years untill you get good :) - There's so many tutorials for free on youtube, that anyone can learn how to produce music as long as you are willing to invest a lot of time into it.
