Dr.Shiver is another DJ/Producer in the scene who is supported by many of the top artists like David Guetta, Avicii, R3hab, Danny Avila, Morgan Page and so on. Dr. Shiver has just released his debut single from Nicky Romero’s Protocol Recordings. The track has already been played at Tomorrowland before release and it should be remembered as one of the hit tracks of 2017. Let’s hear about the story behind his debut single and his upcoming events.

Q1. Please tell to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

If there’s something that makes me proud is my latest track out on Protocol. It is a super funky production that mixes my origins as a musician, my path as a producer and my career as sound designer and sound engineer all in one track. “Something” was initially born as an instrumental track. Once heard the potential of the track with the great team of Protocol I have chosen to write a vocal. I have so called the super talented Kazi from Oslo and “Something” was born.

Q2. How was your Summer this year musically?

A great one I would say! I have spent lot of time in my studio producing some fresh new tunes that you will hear soon. I can already tell you that I will release soon on my own imprint, Art&Music Recording, two new and fresh collabs: Wusu, a smashing banger made with my little brother David Allen and something very special and clubby created with my dear friend Solberjum (I will reveal soon the title on my socials so make sure to follow me to stay updated about this track and lot of other news). This summer also brought another very important accomplishment. I’ve In fact made some fantastics gigs including my debut on the biggest venue on Earth: Tomorroland.

Q3. Which other DJs or producers inspire you these days?

As a pianist and hammond player I am mostly inspired by musicians and singers. No rules. If the music is good It can magically inspire me. I love to listen to Ray Charles, B B King (a men that I got the pleasure to jam with), Stevie Wonder, Alicia Keys, James Brown, Keith Jarrett, Micheal Jackson, Dire Straits, AC/DC, Queen, Doors, Hans Zimmer and so on. I can name to you other thousand singers/ groups/ musicians that I love and that inspire me every day. Just imagine that my idol is Mozart!

Than of course there are a lot of Djs that I really appreciate: Axwell /\ Ingrosso, Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers and last but not least, Nicky Romero, that I have been following for a long time and who now gave me this nice chance to be released on his own imprint Protocol.

Q4. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?

Honestly there are too many tracks that I am crazy in love with so, when I am playing, I definitely prefer to get inspired by the moment and the crowd. Also here, no rules. I can even play the same track in 5 different dj sets in a row, but this is not something which has been planned. It is just driven by how I feel in that precise moment.

Q5. What do you feel has been a notable moment in your career so far?

There are few things I am particularly proud of: working in the Studio with Pharrell Williams as well as with Louie Vega has been a tremendous honor. Playing this year at Tomorrowland has been simply sick. Doing the first official remix of You Got The Love with the original 1986 vocal by Candi Staton just after the great Frankie Knuckles has been an outstanding emotion (also considering that I’ve reached a nice top 5 in the UK pop chart). Being supported by the biggest Djs on Earth makes me understand that I am on the right path and gives me lots of energies. I am also very happy of being the official musical producer of Top Dj, an incredible talent show broadcasted on the biggest Italian Tv Network, Italia 1.

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

It means a lot to me to know that there are people on the other side of the planet that like my music: love you all guys, thank you for being there!

Dr. Shiver’s last release “You Got The Love” was chosen as Tomorrowland 2015’s soundtrack and he is rapidly growing and expanding his field in the dance music scene. A DJ/Producer born and raised in Milan, Italy has officially debuted from one of the most outstanding labels in the scene led by Nicky Romero, Protocol Recordings with the track “Something”. There is more to come from the artist and we hope to see him perform for the Japanese fans very soon.
