DJ Mag Japan Special Interview：Re-vamp

Q1. We heard your new track “Total Confusion”. Can you tell us more about your new track?

This track was made a little year ago, and i was convinced this track was the one that could take me a step higher. The track came out on the upcoming label “Derailed Traxx” which is part of Be Yourself Music. It’s not the typical raw or typical euphoric, just hardstyle, my vision of hardstyle.

Q2. You said your vision of hardstyle, what do you exactly mean with that?

My vision of hardstyle is the way i think hardstyle should be. Of course there will always be subgenres, but i like to see it just as hardstyle. A pumping intro, with a melodic climax. A track that tells you a story are the most successful tracks, and i like to aim on that aspect.

Q3. Do you have any tracks coming up for a release?

I have several tracks done, including 2 collabs and one solo track. Currently i am remixing a track and also working on an extra solo track. I haven’t got any dates planned, but i will keep you updated on my socials!

Q4. How long have you been working on your career?

Since 2015 i have been working on my career. In 2015 i was a DJ duo as Syranity which we both quit back then, and since 2016 i started Re-vamp. Re-vamp previously was a DJ duo too, but because Cornell has a solo project, Oryon (signed at Gearbox Euphoria), we decided to split up and continue our own paths. Re-vamp surely will continue!

Q5. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?

The first track that i always play in every set of mine is “Phuture Noize - The Temple”. Everything is right in this track, the vocals, atmosphere and climax. Easily my number one so far this year.
