Q1. We heard your track “Saying”. Can you tell us a bit about it?

I wanted to make the track have a bit of an oldskool feeling. Old fashioned kind of build up, melody, kicks etc. I loved the melody when I made it because it has that energetic, but big kind of feeling. The feeling tracks had in the Hardstyle music years back. It just felt right and fell into place, with the vocals and everything.

Q2. How is your 2017 so far?

Busy, I am working really hard on creating new music and constantly trying to push myself more and more. Regarding bookings it is less busy unfortunately, because of the switch in agency (now with Twisted Artists agency) Dark Pact kind of got a bit less attention. So that switch and a long silence from my side regarding music made it difficult. But I'm working really hard with my agency now to get Dark Pact up to the right level again!

Q3. What do you personally consider to be the most important moments in your artistic career?

That’s a tough one, there’s a lot of moments that have defined me as a DJ, as an artist and as a person. I think my entire time at Headliner entertainment would be filled with important moments. I learned so much about the business behind the industry and music in general, resulting in great bookings and opportunities (Q-Base anthem, Freaqshow mainstage etc.). So that entire period has been a learning curve for me that has defined me to be who I am right now. And obviously next to all this also my first booking at Loudness Maassilo, without that I wouldn’t be where I am right now!

Q4. Which track would be your favourite from your work and what inspired you to produce that track?

I would say either Abyss or I Don’t Care. Abyss was inspired by Pink Floyd’s “Careful With That Axe Eugene”. I listened to that song as a kid together with my dad and the build up there and then the sudden screeching/screaming in it inspired me to make a track like that. I Don’t Care was basically exactly what the title says, I love messing around in the studio with orchestral sounds and I created that melody line. From there on the track just built itself and I didn’t think of anything or anyone, that track was made in the moment, I simply didn’t care about anything else haha.

Q5. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?

In the style of the last question I would say “I Don’t Care” and “Abyss”. Two completely different tracks, but try and make them fit in a set. They are both tracks I almost always play in my sets and at least have with me to every gig, because people love to hear those two.

Q6. What would Japanese fans be surprised to learn about you?

That I wrote an essay about Japan in high school. Since then I’ve always been intrigued and interested in the country and it’s culture. I still want to visit someday!

Q7. What’s coming up next for you in the early 2017?

Music, lots and lots of new music!
