Q1. Congratulations on your "I'll be there" release. Can you tell us more about it?

Thank you so much, actually there’s a little story behind the track!

I’m sharing a Studio with a friend, he's taking the nightshift and I rather enjoy making music during the day..Once I've stayed a little late at the studio, Maelan came up with a vocal and we’ve started jamming on it, writing and having a lot of fun on the song, that's more or less how « I’ll be there » came out.

The day after I sent the Demo to The Magician, he instantly reacted and proposed to release it on his label « Potion »

Q2. How is your 2017 so far? What’s your summer plan?

A wind of change is blowing and he’s blowing on 2017 and it’s in the right direction!Lot of new music is coming up.

About my plans this summer, I’m doing some cool Festivals, I’ll be part of the « Potion » stage at Tomorrowland this year, I'm playing at Dour Festival, I’m going to Beirut at Decks on the Beach, Paradise City and more tba

Q3. When did you decide to start producing music and what/who inspired you?

I was 15, I was inspire by Rock Bands mainly but I couldn’t really manage to gather one, so I started making everything myself and deejaying every week in a old theater transformed into a Club in Brussels where a lot of local heroes including the Magician were resident Deejay!

Being a Dj has changed my way of producing music and obviously all the talented and magic people I met on this path inspired me.

Q4. Which track would be your favorite from your work and what inspired you to produce that track?

I would pick the first track I ever released « Farfalle » I still don’t know how I came up with this whole track, It was after a break up and the track turned up surprisingly very joyful.

Q5. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?

Russ Yallop - Rock Me (SIS Remix) : It’s a perfect intro track, whatever the Dj before you is playing, this track always fits, I can’t stop playing this track!

Rove Dogs - Why don't you dub? : That one is one of my favorite Pre-Outro, it’s an edit of an interesting Disco collaboration between « Eberhard Schoener » and « Sting »

Q6. Where do you see yourself in a few years from now?

Hope I’ll be in Japan!

Q7. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?

An Essential media for the fans the Newcomers the Oldtimers and hopefully a faithful supporter of my music!

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

2016 was definitely a great year for the upcoming artist Mickey. His powerful tracks “It’s My Man” and “Harlem” both released from Potion was a great way to reach out to new fans and expose his original brand. His talent and original sounds are going to create a new buzz in the scene again this year and we hope to see more from the individual and get the crowd going. Stay tuned to Mickey’s updates.
