Axel Ulivi and Leonardo Grillotti create the duo Flatdisk and they have released numerous tracks from the top labels in scene, Universal Music, Revealed Recordings, Armada Music, Flamingo Records and more. They are the winners of 2013 Revealed Beatport Contest and now receive support from the very best players such as Tiesto, Martin Garrix, Steve Angello, David Guetta, Don Diablo, Nicky Romero and more. Such duo who continues to polish their skills and experience as DJ/Producers have answered our exclusive interview. Check out the story behind their new release and further plans of the year. 

Q1. Congratulations on your " Lost" release. Can you tell us more about it?
 
Yes off course, Lost is a track which we produced some month ago.  it is  a track that we produced really  fast and spontaneously. Production wise it came really natural and we had fun doing it. On our social medias we’re going to explain ho the track was made, so keep your eyes open :)
 

Q2. Can you tell us more about the collaboration with Gil Sanders and Jacob Wellfair?
 
We have been friend with Gil Sanders for a long time.  . He  received this vocal line/idea from Jacob Wellfair  and we all decided to go trough with the composition of the song. 
 

Q3. How is your 2017 so far?
 
2017 is going well so far. . We’re producing a lot of new music and experimenting with some new sounds. We are also producing to a few recording artists. So expect a lot of music from us this year. 
 

Q4. What are your plans for the festival season?
 
Festival season is coming up. We have some interesting shows  this summer. Always good to spread energy and vibes during the summer :)
 

Q5. Which track would be your favourite from your work and what inspired you to produce this one?
 
Oh it’s not easy to decide which is our favorite track we produced. Probably “Bestfriend” is a track that we remember with a lot of affection.   We haven’t taken inspiration from anywhere  regarding the production of this track. We used those vocal chops that we tend to use pretty often as our identity.  The rest of the production it’s just something we felt in that moment. 
  

Q6. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets and why?
 
In our set we can’t miss our collabo with Max Vangeli - Blow this Club. It really works in every situation and when it drops it sounds huge. Another one is that Marshmello remix od Adele’ Hello. Really great vibe !
 

Q7. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.
 
Hi guys thank you so much for your support and we hope to come to Japan soon and share with you that wonderful thing that unites the world called music.

Growing up in Milan, Italy and acquiring skills and experience as a musician from very young age, they now are judged as one of the top players in the scene along with the ones that support the duo. They are of course highly praised by their fans but also from other DJ/Producers and people creating the industry. Not to mention they continue to expand their reach and deliver their unique style through “Flatbeats Radio”. They are on a great path towards success and hopefully we get to see them perform in Japan soon.
