Buku, a DJ/Producer who has reached over 4 million plays on Spotify with his track “Front to Back” is now releasing a track from Spinnin’ Records. The musical sense gained through drums has been the foundation to his tracks such as the buzz creater “Front to Back”, “No Dramas”, “Stop”, “Might Be” and many more. Let’s hear about his new release “Ready 4” from Spinnin’ records and the schedule of an American DJ/Producer.

Q1. We heard your new track " Ready 4". Can you tell us more about your inspirations behind it?

I was experimenting with pushing my sound design to a new place, and the idea just happened to click. Once the initial idea spurred the tune just came together.

Q2. How is your 2017 so far?

It's been wonderful.  I've already played a few career highlight gigs and it's only March, and I have plenty more coming down the line.

Q3. Which track of yours is the one you are proud of the most and why?

This is a tough question, because I feel like I have plenty to be proud of.  But I think "Front to Back" was the perfect storm.  I felt so strong and confident about the tune, and it turned out to be my most successful track to date.  It's been incredibly satisfying to see how far it's come and to know that I retain the ability to create something like that.

Q4. If you could pick one track to play in your each set, which one would it be and why?

Easily "Front to Back."  It's been such an honor to provide a track that seems to have spoken to so many people.

Q5. What do you think will be the next trend in electronic music?

It's honestly impossible to say.  There are so many places electronic music has explored, and music is released so rapidly anymore.  I think some sounds end up getting circulated a bit, but I think the best thing is to sit back and let inspiration take its course naturally.

Q6. Is there anything that fans would be surprised about you i.e. from your private life or your music production rituals?

As far as production is concerned, I've been building a modular synth system.  I'll be featuring it more and more with the music that I release this year.  It's been so much fun experimenting and creating with this system.  In my personal life- I actually grew up playing ice hockey, and I've been getting back into it and having tons of fun.

Q7. What's next in your pipeline for 2017?

I'm going to continue to play shows, but my main goal is to release more music.  I'm currently sitting on a bunch of tracks, and it's time to give them to the people and keep pushing forward!

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

Thank you guys so much for your support out in Japan.  I cannot wait until I am honored the opportunity to come out there and see you guys face to face.  Thanks again, and I hope to see you soon!
