Another duo formed in 2013 called Galavant between Sebastian Atas and Victor Sjöström, hit the chart with their debut single ”Tonight” and was awarded as a platinum single in their home country Sweden. Not only that but they also recorded over 6 million plays on Swedish Spotify and was in the domestic Top 100 chart for 22 consecutive weeks. Galavant started their new project in a way other artists would envy and let’s hear what there are up to since their debut and their future plans to climb up the steep ladder this industry holds.

Q1. We heard your new Purple E.P. is out now on Armada Trice. Can you talk some about your journey in recent months leading up to this E.P.?

We felt we wanted to experiment with different sounds, people and vibes and we ended up with a bunch of tracks that we all felt had a kind of ”unique” touch to it… We talked to the guys over at Armada Trice and they really liked this direction and was supporting us all the way. Instead of just releasing a single we choose to release the work as a EP :)

Q2. Hey Mama has already received a lot of DJ support from some of the biggest names in the scene like Martin Garrix, NERVO, Nicky Romero and many more. How does that make you feel?!

The support has truly been amazing and it feels really great to get supported by big names!

Q3. What was the inspiration and production process like for your new track Purple Haze?

We got sent a acapella idea by our friends called SAMCROW and Linnea Södahl (writers) . From this we started to work on a beat and melody. We wanted to creat something a bit more laid back, something that works listening to all day and all night!

Q4. What was your best experience of 2016? And what’s your resolution for 2017?

The best thing we did during 2016 was to find the guys over at Armada and to get a fresh start with an amazing team! 2017 will bring more live shows, and of course a lot more new music!

Q5. Can you tell us a bit more about what’s your favorite thing about working with each other and where you get your inspiration from when producing music?

We Complete eachother on different levels and we have a lot of fun doing this! Inspiration comes from nothing and everything! :D We can sit in the studio with no ideas and suddenly we created a cool melody and the work is in progress… Other times we can find inspiration from meeting people, different places, movies etc.

Q6. What does DJ MAG mean to you as DJ’s and producers?

DJ MAG is a great source to read about news from the industry and follow what’s going on! :) Sites like this help’s dj/producers a lot by promoting and pushing things forward. Now days DJ’s are like any other artist and that thanks to sites like DJ MAG bringing the light towards us.

Q7. DJ MAG recently started a vote for the "Top 100 Clubs" and I want to ask you what are your favorite clubs and why?

We love to visit and play at the smaller venues, easier to get connection with the crowd and to see and feel the reactions. A perfect example of this is Cafe mambo, maybe not ranked as a club but anyways. IF we would choose a major club we had to say Echostage…

Q8. What does Galavant have in store for us for 2017?

Lots of new music and fun collaborations. Hopefully hit the road and be playing clubs all over the world!

Q9. Please leave a message to your fans in Japan.

Lots of love to everyone supporting us and our music! Would be a dream to come playing for you !!!
