Timon van Merriënboer aka Profite back then and now recognised as REBOURNE, born in 1993 in the Netherlands was then the youngest individual who had signed with Fusion Records with the age of only 17. His first release “Split Second” created a buzz in the scene and started to receive support from other artists’ kick starting to a great career ahead. Let us share the exclusive interview who is making a fresh new start with his new career as REBOURNE.

Q1. We heard your new track “Right Now” is stored on 23rd of January. Can you tell us more about it?

Right Now started out as an intro for my Australia tour in 2016. It's an energetic, melodic track that works great on the dancefloor. My favorite part of this track is actually the breakdown with the sliced vocal. That’s also the first part I did for the track. It’s funny because I don’t often start with a breakdown when I don’t have a melody yet, but with 'Right Now' I did.

Q2. What is your resolution for 2017?

My number 1 resolution is to make more and better music than ever before! Next to that I’d love to play more shows and visit more countries I’ve never visited before. I am also planning to do more exciting collaborations this year and one of them is happening soon!

Q3. How do you get the inspiration from when producing music?

Inspiration can be caused by almost anything really. For me it’s mostly traveling, listening to other music and art. A nice view for example can lead to a great idea for a melody or a breakdown. Other genres are always really exciting to listen to. For me listening to trance music or music by artists like Flume & Bonobo is always really inspirational.

Q4. Since DJ Mag started to vote "Top 100 Clubs", I want to ask you what are your favorite clubs and why?

Where it all started for me was club Matrixx in my hometown. That’s where I visited my first parties and played one of my first shows. Fabrik in Madrid was a really cool club to play at and of course the Masif events in Club Space in Sydney. I’ve never played in Ibiza as a dj but from a visitor-perspective there are some of my favorite clubs as well. Everything there is huge and really big show-wise.

Q5. What’s coming up next for you in the early 2017?

My upcoming release will be a remix for The Galaxy, a trap-duo based on Yellow Claw’s label. After that I’ve got another new solo-release which hopefully sees the light somewhere in April/May. Aside of that I’ve got some really exciting collabs planned; there’s 2 new ones with Wasted Penguinz and one with Toneshifterz. I’m also hitting the studio with Brennan Heart soon so I’m super excited to see where that’s going!

Q6. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?

For me DJ Mag is a credible platform for DJ’s and producers all over the world. I’ve known about DJ Mag for a while now through the DJ Mag top 100 when Tiesto became number 1. Even though I agree with many about it mostly being a popularity contest, it still would be amazing to see my own name in there someday.

Q7. Do you have anything you want to say in particular or want to promote?

I’m currently looking for Japanese vocals for a very special project. Please send your vocals to: vocals@rebourne.nl, anything is welcome as long as it’s Japanese spoken!

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

My dream is to play in Japan very soon! I’m amazed by the culture, the food and the people. Hope to see you all soon :)
