David Gravell is a hero of Trance scene and when ARMADA NIGHT launched in Japan for the first time, he performed along with Ruben De Ronde and showed Japanese crowds the real scene out there. Since his kick start by “Fire Away” back in 2013, he keeps on reaching out to a bigger stage and platform. Another release “Bulldozer” reached to Armin Van Buuren’s “Essential Mix on BBC1 Radio”. Let’s hear about his new release and the message to Japanese fans.

Q1. A new remix of your track Melbourne has just been released on Armada Captivating. What do you think about this remix by DRYM? How did you and DRYM get connected?

Yeah!

I am very happy about this one! Been a fan of there work now for years, and i always wanted to have a DRYM remix for one of my tracks =)

Q2. Can you talk a little bit about the initial inspiration for Melbourne?

I remember I finished this track on my first international tour ever in Melbourne. It was so magical to start the tour in Melbourne back then that i decided to name the track Melbourne! So it has a bit of a story to it.

Q3. You also just released a remix for Armin van Buuren’s Communication which turned out to be nr.1 on Beatport in no-time! How did this make you feel? Can we expect more collaborations with Armin van Buuren in the near future?

Woohoooo! So happy that it is doing so well in the charts at the moment and getting that n1 spot in 3 days was something I could not expect! Thanks everyone for the amazing support! Yes, there is more coming in 2017 so stay tuned! =)

Q4. Looking back on 2016, what were your favorite gigs you played this year?

Ohhh! There are so many amazing shows that I played in 2016, but i think ASOT in Utrecht was the highlight for me and Ultra Europe was also very special!

Q5. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your sets throughout 2016 and why?

I go for my track ‘Stay Awake’ & my remix of “Communication” 100%

Q6. What do you have in store for us in 2017? Any cool collaborations/special projects coming up that we should know about?

To start the year with a bang I have my first mix compilation coming up in a few months with a bunch of new tracks, I cannot wait for you guys to hear it! Already have support from Armin van Buuren and playing it myself at every show!

Q7. When did you decide to start producing music and where/who do you get your inspiration from?

I think I was always inspired by music my whole life but exactly making the music that I am doing now started with the taste that I always had and now you can finally hear a little bit of what I am working on!

Q8. DJ MAG recently started a vote for the "Top 100 Clubs", what are your favorite clubs and why?

Ooooh, Tough one! I think I like Exchange LA, Ageha Tokyo, Colloseum Jakarta & ZOUK KL are very impressive clubs with a good sound system!

09. What does DJ MAG mean to you as a DJ and producer?

I see this as a appreciation by your fans voting for there favorite Artist every year and get a little bit noticeable every year your growing as an Artist. It motivates!

10. What would you like to say to your fans in Japan?

Thank you for the amazing support on my music, I know I get the question a lot when I come back to Japan. But I hope very soon!
