Daddy’s Groove has been ranked as 97th in DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Ranking. The duo was at Sound Museum VISION in Shibuya, Tokyo last year and has done a wonderful show gathering loads of fans to the club. Daddy’s Groove is also one of the artists to be receiving support from the one and only David Guetta. He created a buzz playing their track “Back To 94” featuring Cimo Fränkel released by Spinnin’ Records at big festivals. Stay tuned for Daddy’s Grooves’ latest release information, including their new single ‘Street Life’, in this interview.

Q1. We heard your new track “Street Life” is stored on 19th of December. Can you tell us more about your new track?

Of course! We were listening to some rough beats in our studio with Kryder. At the early production stage this was the one we loved the most and decided to work together on it sharing some ideas in the studio and remotely... By the way, the latin-funk sample was in both our minds for a long time!!

Q2. How did you decide to do collaboration with Kryder, and how was it?

We sincerely appreciate what he's playing live and his released stuff. It's a groovy sound we always been into since day one in our career, so it was pretty 'natural' to get in touch with him... This happened specifically during a gig in the US where Carlo was playing as headliner next to him which resulted in a funny b2b!

Q3. What have been the new frontiers for you this year?

They have been two actually: coming back to Spinnin' Records releasing something we define 'genuine' and 'really close to what we are and what we love', and obviously being part of the DJ Mag Top 100, a great prize of which we are very proud and thankful to the fans!

Q4. Since DJ Mag started to vote "Top 100 Clubs", I want to ask you what are your favorite clubs and why?

Pacha Ibiza overall, we always have such a great time there, and we are lucky to play there since years, we really feel at home with Francisco and Jessica and all the rest. Of course we also love Ministry of Sound in London and the Sky Garden in Bali is great as well. Another amazing club we love for the atmosphere is Club Vision in Tokyo.

Q5. How do you get the inspiration from when producing music?

Inspiration comes from everywhere: a gig in a club, a track you hear on the radio that has nothing to do with the music you produce, a special kick sample, a dinner out with your family/friends... very often your own culture is the main inspiration.

Q6. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? Something within your expectation?

The first impression was amazing, such a great culture! And I’ve also discovered the 'real sushi', the fish market was something unbelievable!

Q7. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?

It's always been a kind of 'reference' about what is happening in the biz, also something we look at for discovering big talents in the production context that maybe we missed for some reasons!

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

You are real connoisseurs!! Bless ya!!

Daddy’s Groove has constantly released hit tracks from big labels like Spinnin’ Records and continues to grow. Releasing tracks like “Stellar”, “Vertigo”, “Turn The Lights Down” and many more, no wonder David Guetta would like to give them support for their effort. Despite being trapped in the studio creating new tracks, they don’t forget to excite their fans and do gigs all over the world. We hope to see more from them in 2017 and raise higher in the next Top 100 DJs Ranking.
