Q1. We heard your new track “Rosie” is stored on 5th of December. Can you tell us more about your new track?

It's the follow up release to my previous collab with my friend Rene Amesz. We did the track 'Lord' earlier this year and it did really well so we decided to do a new one. We used the same kind of soulful vocals and this time a rougher techhouse beat with a wonky melody. It's doing very well in the charts so we're super happy with the results so far!

Q2. How did you decide to do collaboration with Rene Amesz, and how was it?

I've been a fan of Rene for over 10 years, I remember working in a record store back in the day and always getting excited when a new Rene Amesz vinyl came in. I reached out a few years ago and we became friends along the way. Last year we decided to work together and the results of the first collab were great, so only logical we did another one. We'll definitely work on new tracks in 2017.

Q3. When did you decide to start producing music and what/who inspired you?

I've been a DJ for about 15 years now, started off in the harder styles and switched to house about 10 years ago. From that moment I also started producing music because my dream was playing around the world and for that you need your own productions.

Q4. Since DJ Mag started to vote "Top 100 Clubs", I want to ask you what are your favorite clubs and why?

I really like playing at the Egg in London, great underground vibe! Ministry of Sound was impressive as well and I really loved the Cocoon club (too bad it's closed now). I'm positive Japan has a lot of beautiful clubs, it would be awesome to visit Japan next year and to play at one of them!

Q5. How do you get the inspiration from when producing music?

I listen to old R&B and soul a lot. If you check my music you'll often hear old R&B vocals in it. It's definitely my main source of inspiration!

Q6. How was this year? What was the best experience of 2016?

This year has been simply amazing! My tracks did very well in the charts and I did a lot of cool shows. To name a few favorites: Tomorrowland Belgium, AMF Amsterdam, Revelin in Croatia, Octopia Festival in South Africa and Daydream Mexico.

Q7. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?

I'm a fan of the magazine, I think it's great how long the magazine has been around and always stayed relevant.

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

First of all a big thanks for the support and as said earlier, fingers crossed that I'll visit Japan in 2017 and come and play for you guys :)!

Ferreck Dawn has released many bangers to the scene and his new release is definitely another one on the list to check out. He’s been in the studio for days but never forgets to perform a show for his fans and amazes them every time. Let us hope for the best for the talent and hopefully we’ll see him in Japan very soon.
