Blasterjaxx formed by two individuals from the land of EDM, The Netherlands, Thom Jongkind and Idir Makhlaf were announced as 43rd in this year's DJ MAG TOP 100 DJS ranking. It didn't take long for them to join other top DJs performing at big festivals such as Tomorrowland, Ultra or Sziget. Not only are they supported and favourites by fans but also they worked with Electric Family and produced bracelets, in which the profit was donated to blind people including children. This may be another factor that shows their characteristics and personality as individual human being and not only as a world famous DJs. Blasterjaxx had an interesting interview with us so let us share the contents with you guys!

Q1. We heard your new track "Hearts Starts To Beat" is stored on 21st of November. Can you tell us more about your new track?

It's our first collaboration with Marnik, we've been supporting these guys for a while now and to get the chance to work with them sounded as a real good opportunity. The end result is really something we are proud of.

Q2. How did you decide to work together with Marnik for this track, and how was it?

Actually it was Marnik's manager who approached us with the vocals for this track. Based on that we shot ideas over till we came to the final version.

Q3. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? Something within your expectation?

We felt really honored to play the very first EDM Festival in Japan a few years back.

Since then the market has become more mature. Talking about the crowd: This was beyond expectations. Everything is always done really professional! Great productions, great sounds systems and next level hospitality. It's really is a country we love to play!

Q4. Who or what is the most musically influenced to you? If so, why is that?

Honestly our inspiration comes from a lot of different genres of music like reggae, hardstyle, rock, hip hop and so much more. We both listen to a lot of different genres and try to combine this in the studio. Idir is more into reggeaton and Thom is more into hardstyle and rock.

Q5. What would fans be surprised to learn about you?

When we make music it's not about the technical aspect but about the emotions that are involved.

Q6. What do you have coming up next?

We just released 'Heart Starts To Beat' together with Marnik on our own label Maxximize Records and we've got a new club banger about to release in December. We're really really excited for this one!!!

Q7. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?

For us it's a guideline to see how much our fans appreciate us. We think the past years there already has been a lot of discussion around the DJ Mag, but it's still a list that our fans can vote on.

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

Japan, we love you guys since day one. We can't wait to be back!

Since they signed in 2012, it took them a year to release their debut single "Loud & Proud" collaborating with Billy The Kit. Since then Tiësto, ranked 5th in this year's ranking was overwhelmed by their skill and talent and Blasterjaxx signed to his label Musical Freedom. We hope to see and hear more from them and hopefully we see them in Japan soon again!
