No surprise that NERVO is yet again to be found in DJ Mag Top 100 DJs Ranking for this year. They’ve consistently produced great tracks and their number of fans doesn’t seem to stop increasing. The twin duo, Miriam Nervo and Olivia Nervo are ranked 45th this year and it seems like their role as models also influenced their votes, other than their exceptional DJ/Producer skills. It’s surprising to see both of them achieve their goals as they originally wanted to be models but also after signing with Sony/ATV Music Publishing at only 18 years of age, they’ve started their professional careers and entered the EDM scene. Other than doing shows and gigs all around the world and constantly going wild as twin duo, they also sit back in their studio and produced the back bones of “David Guetta – When Love Takes Over feat. Kelly Rowland” and the song was awarded at the GRAMMY’s. Let’s see what they have to say to us in our exclusive interview.

Q1. We heard your new track “Forever or Nothing” is stored on 25th of November. Can you tell us more about your new track?

The new track is a collaboration with our good friend from LA and up and coming producer SAVI.  It also features the gorgeous Lauren Bennett formerly of the Pussycat Dolls so we are all super excited to release this with Armada and under our brand new label Got Me Baby Records.

Q2. What was the best experience of summer 2016?

There are always so many amazing experiences from our summer tour it’s hard to pick just one.  Our NERVONation residency at Ushuaia this year was definitely a highlight for us, playing Tomorrowland is always a great festival experience, we love to visit Mykonos each year because we just love that island, and just being able to visit so many places and play for all the fans made the summer of 2016 super special!  We also had some great releases this summer including Did We Forget, People Grinnin’, and Anywhere You Go so that made it a lot of fun being able to play new records.

Q3. How do you get the inspiration from when producing music?

Our songs are like our diary entries. They can be very personal. A lot of lyric inspiration comes from our life experiences, relationships, traveling the world, and even what is going on in the world at the moment.  Sonically we draw a lot of inspiration from touring and seeing what works on the dance floor.

Q4. What do you personally consider to be the most important moments in your artistic career?

Our transition from ghost writers to becoming artists was a key point in our careers. Other moments that have been important are when a song we wrote for David Guetta won the Grammy, reaching the Billboard #1 for a NERVO single and having a #1 album on iTunes are all great moments.  Still having said this, we also think we have a lot more we can do. Right now we are focused on making music that inspires us and hopefully connects with people.

Q5. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? Something within your expectation?

We have a few good friends in Japan who have been so wonderful to us and have shown us so many great things from Onsen spa to late night karaoke to Robot cafe to Cat cafe to the fish markets to authentic Ramen houses to gorgeous walks through the beautiful parks. There's so much we love about Japan. The shopping is always great too!

Q6. What do you have coming up next tour, new track… etc?

We are actually coming to Asia in December so are very excited about that. After “Forever Or Nothing” release we will have another release in December on Spinnin so stay tuned ;)

Q7. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?

DJ Mag to us is a platform that helps showcase dance artists around the world and helps keep artists connected with their fans. It also gives a platform for people to understand  more about dance music and dance culture. It also allows everyone to get together once a year and connect at ADE for the Top 100 poll so thank you for that!

Q8. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

We are very much looking forward to returning to Japan. We will be playing some new music that we have been working on so look forward to your feedback. arigato!

NERVO is expanding their territory and is also signed to FUTURE UNISON, that produced “Hey Boy” and “I” by one of the most respected Japanese singer of the time Kana Nishino or nation-wide superstar Namie Amuro’s “Love Story”. They’ve got connections within Japan and are expected to be more seen in Asia region starting from Japan. NERVO is booked at ageHa on the 17th of December this year and is expected to make Japanese crowd go wild with their lush looks and astonishing performance.
