Tavi Castro is another new comer in the scene not only recognised for his music talent but for his exceptionally muscular looks. He signed a contract with Spinnin’ Records couple months back. As imagined, he’s also a fitness model on the side and runs his own company “Engineered Life”. After making a debut from Spinnin’ releasing his single “Survive”, it created a buzz in the scene and let us share the interview with us about his new career and his release.

Q1. We heard your new track "So Serious" is stored on 7th of November. Can you tell us more about your new track?

So Serious is a good energy, positive vibe track meant to remind you not to take life so seriously. Good energy and a tight beat make this a catchy hit.

Q2. Why did you decide to start DJ career while doing modeling work and running own company?

I was actually into music and music production before the start of my fitness modeling career and the launch of my clothing companies. Struggling to pay my way through university, my passion for fitness offered me a chance to earn enough money to get by . Unfortunately this didn't go as quickly with DJing in Rotterdam. Now that my ideas and concepts were a huge success in the fitness industry. I am financially free to chase my passion for music.

Q3. Who or what is the most musically influenced to you? If so, why is that?

It started with my dad, he played the electric guitar and Spanish guitar his whole life. While growing up he was always in bands with his friends and this is where I got exposed to synthesizers , effects panels and other music related gear. This triggered the attachment to music in the beginning . After that, being a nerd and studying aerospace engineering in the most DJ friendly country in the world, the netherlands. Pushing buttons , programming, and finding my sound slowly followed.

Q4. What would fans be surprised to learn about you?

I can design airplanes haha . Not a typical thing for the stereotypical "meathead bodybuilder " or DJ

Q5. What do you have coming up next?

I have got a ton of projects I need to finish up and get through to my new label Spinnin Records . Tracks from chill trap, future bass , to a mix with hip hop . This year has gone very fast in regards to music. Finding the time to finish up my projects, travel for photo campaigns for my companies and maintain my social media status has been challenging!. But I love it!

Q6. What is DJ Mag to you as a DJ and producer?

DJ mag was always a source of information and inspiration. I always looked to it to see how the edm sound evolved, who was hot, what equipment was trending , and more. It's an essential teacher for the upcoming producers and DJs

Q7. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

To all my awesome fans in Japan, I am such a fan of your language and culture, that I even named an entire collection in my clothing company in Japanese! , a visit is thus long over due! I hope to see you all very soon on the dancefloor!

After making a debut from Spinnin’ Records with “Survive”, it recorded 28th on Spotify Global Viral Top 50 and was a banger. After leaving a great impression and impact to the world with first single, he’s likely to join other new comers and lead the scene. It would be interesting to see how his experience as a fitness model and entrepreneur is going to influence his persona as a DJ/Producer and let us keep an eye on another new comer, Tavi Castro.
