DJ Mag Japan has been focusing on Sweden, that have many great dance music artists such as Avicii, Swedish House Mafia, and Eric Prydz. Today we received an exclusive interview from Amero talking about his new release "Bring That Back" and about himself.

Q1. We heard your new track “Bring That Back”. Can you tell us more about your new track?

This track is very special for my as this is my first solo track of the year! I really wanted to make something special and enjoyable! I made the idea back in April for fun just messing around with the vocal and I honestly didn’t think it was something I was going to finish and put out but here we are and it just came out on Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike’s label so I’m super happy about that and very thankful for them supporting me and this is also my third release on Smash The House!

Q2. How is 2020 for you so far? Please let us know if there was any change in your artist life after the outbreak of COVID-19.

It was for sure! Since I’m still in pretty early stages of my career my show schedule wasn’t very affected but the shows I was going play won’t happen! I also had to finish my last year of High School from home but that meant I had more time to finish more music and a lot of these tracks are coming out this year that has been made during this period of time!

Q3. Could you tell us what made you decide to become a music producer? What was your motive?

When I was 5-6 I heard Eric Prydz Call On Me, I got super hooked by the track but at the time I didn’t understand what it was a few years later around 2009-2010 when I was 8-9 years old I discovered Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello as well as Avicii which changed my life forever. I became a massive Swedish House Mafia fan and I followed them, looked for new music and that’s also when i started finding more DJs and from that point i was hooked and realized this was something I wanted to do as well!

Q4. Why is your artist name “Amero”? Please tell us about your unknown story.

Well my real name is Gustaf Björnberg which is maybe not the easiest name to pronounce haha! When picking an artist name I wrote down several ideas I had a different version of the Amero name which was longer but then I removed a few letters and came up with this and I really liked it and I haven’t looked back on it ever since!

Q5. What would fans be surprised to learn about “Amero”?

I love to play tennis haha! I have been playing tennis since i was a little kid and recently picked it up! It’s so much fun!

Q6. What should we be expecting from “Amero” in the near future?

There is a lot of new music coming very soon and loads of other stuff as well! Been switching up things music wise which I think people might already be hearing with my new release! So I’m super excited to show the new music to the fans!

Q7. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

I want to thank everyone who has supported me so far and hopefully when things get back to normal I can come and play in Japan and meet you all and have a great time when I’m doing the show!
