Q1. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

My new release is called “Love Won Another”. It’s about choosing unity and understanding in a time increasingly defined by division.

Q2. How is this EP special compare to other tracks you’ve released throughout the career?

It’s special because it’s the first of several releases for the label Moonlight Records, a small label based in Calgary, Canada. They came to Vancouver and shot a great video for the title song “Love Won Another”, it’s on YouTube, please go check it out. It shows some great scenes from Hub Cycling’s “Bike The Night Festival”, and also the after-hours club I am a resident DJ at in Vancouver, Gorg-O-Mish.

Q3. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? Something within your expectation?

I spent 10 years in Tokyo and it never stopped defying my expectations. It is a very special place and like a second home to me. I had very hard experiences there, and learned a lot. I also had so many great memories and support. I am currently working with the Japanese label, UNKNOWN Season, and have collaborated recently on remixes with Satoshi Fumi. I also remain close with Hiroshi Watanabe aka Kaito. I keep Japan very near in my heart. Please check my new music video called “Vista” and you will see so much influence from Japan, even in my current work.

Q4. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your recent sets and why?

I would say So Kobayashi’s upcoming track on my RF label “Reflected Colours”, this is masterful deep techno with a Tokyo “Detroitish” vibe. Also I love the track “For You” by Sage The Cat recently. This is also on Moonlight Records. A really unique and futuristic, modern house track. Sounds great in the morning at Gorg-O-Mish.

Q5. Any exciting new projects coming up that you can share with us?

Yes, I have another release on Moonlight in March called “Crisis Actors”, featuring remixes by Calgary artists, Kloves and Matt Caine. I also have EPs coming out on Goldmin Music and UK vinyl label Weapons Of Desire. I have several EP releases planned for this year on my RF label with a series of cover artwork by France based artist Max Wyse and stunning infa-red photography by Tomas Jirku. Currently my EP “Witch Hazel” is available on swirled gold vinyl and digital on aDepth audio with a remix by Nomadico aka DJ Dex of Underground Resistance.

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

I miss Japan very much and really hope to return there soon. Domo Arigato Gozimasu. Please don’t forget about me, Yoroshuku. If you would like to book me in Japan, please contact Shinya Suzuki at Matsuri Beats! Peace!
