Q1. Please talk to us about your release "Quiggin" and the inspiration behind it.
Quiggin is straight up club music for me. It's definitely has this very distinct vibe to which I love at parties, when the DJ plays something that no one really expects. Actually, I was just fiddling around with sounds and then the lead sound from the drop came. I knew I had to produce something with this sound, it just did not let go of me. So, that's how I created Quiggin.
Q2. How is this track special compared to other tracks you’ve released throughout your career?
It's definitely a pure club track, I think. I mean, tracks can become anything nowadays, but for me this is definitely one of the clubbiest tracks I have produced in my life. Also, it's my first release on Spinnin Deep, so another premiere right there.
Q3. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your recent sets and why?
Sure. I actually always have something in my sets from ARTBAT. Those guys are incredible, create atmospheric tech house and melodic house music. And, I always add something of Solomun into the mix. There isn't that one track I need, though. It's always something different.
Q4. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? (If you have been to Japan) Is there something within your expectation in Japan?
Well, I haven't been to Japan yet (Shame on me, haha). But I really wanna go soon. The part of the culture that has swept across to Europe is beautiful, the food of course but also the kindness of the people. Something I want to experience first hand in Japan. I'm actually very curious if Sushi tastes any different in Japan :-)
Q5. Any exciting new projects coming up that you can share with us for 2019?
Yes, I'm finishing my follow up single to Who Got The Keys, which is called 'Flawless'. Definitely a banger, you guys will love it, I'm sure. Also produced another Edit of one of my all time favourite tracks 'Seven Days And One Week'. Looking forward to pushing that out as well. And much more music in the making. Will be a great year!
Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.
Arigatō, Japan, for all your support. I hope I'm able to visit soon for a show! Tanoshinde kudasai my music :-)
