Performing shows along Interstellar Funk, Robert Hood, Florian Kupfer, Steffi, DVS1 and more as well as joining big line ups for Rewords and Plissken. Pablo Diskko, a DJ/Producer from the heart of dance music, Amsterdam is making his way up to stardom as we speak. Pablo Diskko, a new face for DJ MAG Japan, have announced a new track so let’s hear how he produces new music. 

Q1. We’re glad to interview with you. Could you start by telling us about yourself first? 

Hello, my name is Pavlos I was born in a small city in Greece, and at the moment I am living in Amsterdam, Netherlands. I started djing in 2010 in Athens and moved to Amsterdam in 2015, where His Dark Elements were formed, a collective that is putting on events in under-the-radar locations around Amsterdam. Also I had the chance to start djing as a part of the renowned Zwart Goud record store.

Q2. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

I am super happy this EP is coming out through Berlin-based Dissolute! I’ve met with the guys that run the label quite a while ago, and agreed at some point we should do something together. I made all those tracks last year, in a period when everywhere in the news was talking about robots. I was watching all these documentaries about robotic technology etc, so I guess that affected my thought process and my production.

Q3. How is this record special compare to other tracks you’ve released throughout the career?

I wanted to make a different record, something more danceable than my previous works. I tried to experiment more with hardware synths and drum machines for this EP. 

Q4. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your recent sets and why?

1- Benn Rogue - Moloch Home-Security: Such a nice B side from the latest Dissolute record. Benn is a very good friend and one of the coolest artists around.

2 - June - Direct Contact: Special track for me, from greek artist June. Really into its 707 drums and sequencers. Killer EP!

Q5. Any exciting new projects coming up that you can share with us?

I will be releasing a track on Snuffo’s In The Dark Again imprint in the next months. Really excited about this one! Also, looking forward to playing more gigs this year, and throwing some parties with His Dark Elements in Amsterdam and Berlin.

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

I’ve never been and would love to play one day, and see all the cherry blossoms. Hopefully, I will visit Japan soon! X

Pablo Diskko’s music is only created by himself because he has been listening quality music throughout his childhood and up to this day. Successful releases from Italian label, Raw Culture and German Dissolute are great steps for up and coming artists and we’ll soon be hearing more music from the Greek artist. Tune into his new EP.
