A 21 year old RetroVision is already making something out of his career and is looked up to by many other young up and coming talents. His releases are constantly supported by top artists including David Guetta, Afrojack, Galantis, Steve Aoki, Dillon Francis and many more. He has just released a new track “Get Down”, which already has been supported by quite a few artists and the list is only going to get longer. Here’s the story behind the release “Get Down”.

Q1. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

I’ve always loved listening to older tracks because my mum used to buy a lot of cassette tapes and CD’s while I was growing up. When I started making this record I knew that it needed an old school touch. I decided to sample an old yet famous break that everyone knows and loves, while giving it a little future house edge that people are used to hearing my music.

Q2. How is this track special compare to other tracks you’ve released throughout your career?

Every time I make a new track I try to make it more special than the last so that each release has something unique yet still a “RetroVision” track. To be honest though, ‘Get Down’ is actually quite different from the music I usually make because it’s much harder and the melody is obviously noticeable too.

Q3. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your recent sets and why?

I would say “808” by TV Noise… It’s a complete banger. I’ve also played one of ID's called "Kick It" for more than a year now because it always gets such a great response from the crowd. I like playing unreleased material live so I can road test it but if you ask most DJ’s they will tell you that it’s great to have some super exclusive music that no one else has to play in your own sets!

Q4. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? Something within your expectation?

Japan is such a beautiful country and I absolutely LOVED visiting there in November last year! When I played my first show in Tokyo it was crazy because I never expected so many people in the crowd to be singing along to my music.

Q5. Any exciting new projects coming up that you can share with us?

I'm currently working on official remixes for some big artists you’ll know while also preparing a lot of new original releases in the studio. Who knows you might see some more RetroVision releases on Musical Freedom, NCS and even Hexagon so be ready!

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

I absolutely LOVE you all and I can’t wait to come back and see you again real soon. A little exclusive for DJ Mag Japan… We’re working on some options for a tour so you can expect to see my return to JAPAN!

“Over Again”, “Nobody Else”, “SICC” have reached over 4.6million streams on Spotify and the new release “Get Down” is already supported by Martin Garrix, Tiesto, Alan Walker. These top artists performed the track during EDC LAS VEGAS and the track already has a bright future. He’s released an exclusive information about his on-going discussion about his next Japan Tour!
