Nick Martin is one of the up and coming DJ/Producer who we’ve also had him perform at last year’s Ultra Japan 2017. He is also known for touring with top artists including The Chainsmokers, Hardwell, NERVO, Alesso and more. Not only did he sign with Armada Music last year for his upcoming releases but his offer to play at clubs and festival does not seem to stop… Scroll down to read an interview about his new release “Cool Love”.

Q1. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

Cool love is my favorite release to date. The lyrics and the story are great, and along my songwriters, I have envisaged a cool feeling and vibe for the production of this song. The inspiration came as I developed the song into its current form. I love working with guitars as they provide more flexibility and a more long-lasting feeling. Sound wise having adjusted some setting to my studio I feel we have hit a new high in terms of engineering. I love the tempo which is more mellow but i will off course have another version for the clubs as this is more downtempo.

Q2. How is this track special compare to other tracks you’ve released throughout the career?

I have been producing for only 4 years now and I consider actually completing and releasing a track a very special process especially on release day. This record when it was released gave me immediately the feeling of joy and that it is stronger in all areas than my previous work which of course as an up and coming artist gives me the confidence to continue.

Q3. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your recent sets and why?

Axwell Ingrosso “More Than You Know” and of course my remix for Robin Schultz “I Believe I M Fine”

Q4. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? Something within your expectation?

I had been in Japan before I DJed there for the first time and was in love with the country from the start. I consider Japan one of my favourite countries where I want to go again and again. I was there actually a couple of months ago djing at Ele Club Tokyo. What has been my most surprising moment was when in Ultra Music Festival I was about to play on the main stage, and it was raining heavily, and I was worried that the rain would spoil the mood, but when I started my set, I saw exactly the opposite. People were dancing like crazy, and I was blown away!

Q5. Any exciting new projects coming up that you can share with us?

I have been going back and forth to Nashville and LA in search of new songwriters and writing camps so to find new top lines and work with award-winning lyricists. I can say that I have more in the works than ever before. I don't like to jinx what is coming up next so I cannot reveal names etc. but I can say that it is more up-tempo and more groovy. What I can promise to my fans is more music than ever faster and better.

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

I love you guys, and I promise to keep coming back as many times as you like!
