Italia-based Duo DJs from Mars have gained fame as mush-up producer who can add dance music flavor into pop music. Also, no one can not forget once we saw their trademark, the box covering their head. Since their debut in 2004, they have remixed a lot of songs from famous artist such as  Bimbo Jones, Sean Paul, Pitbull, Yves La Rock, Sophie Ellis Bextor, Fragma, Ciara Cascada, Coolio. Let us share about their latest release and success story.

Q1. Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

It all started when we played a bootleg with “Still DRE” by Dr.Dre and Snoop Dogg in a club in Malaysia last year. We knew this song is a huge hit but we didn’t expect people going absolutely insane when they hear that piano riff. So we said “We need to do something with the same vibe, now!” We came back in studio and played a similar piano riff, we liked it, and then we added a beat, and a weird vocal chops part. We loved that beat! We asked Xamplify (a rapper from Australia) to sing over that beat, he made an amazing job! In the end, we teamed up with Tenashar, from Singapore, to finalize the track. We love that this track is very International, it’s born in Malaisya, it’s been finalized across Europe, Australia, Singapore, it’s definitely a track that shows how people can connect all over the world today! 10 years ago that would have been impossibile!

Q2. How is this track special compare to other tracks you’ve released throughout the career?

It has a different beat, it’s slower than usual. We mainly play EDM and Electro, but we always have some slower beats in our dj sets. And we never released an official track in this direction. So for the first time, this different beat is featured on an official release. We love electro but we also listen to a lot of HipHop, Trap, Dubstep, so we wanted to include some urban elements in one of our tracks. It’s our first try in this direction and we’re loving it so we’re surely going to do something similar in the future!

Q3. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your recent sets and why?

Sadly, we have a Linkin Park bootleg (What I’ve Done) that we’ve been playing for years now. But last year, since Chester’s death, when we play that track, it creates a different atmosphere in the clubs. It’s like people forgets about where they are and start thinking about life and feelings. The lyrics from that track are also very touching. So we’re playing it at every show, it creates a “special moment” in our sets. We love the fact that people can jump and dance, but also sing a song and live an emotional moment during our sets. It’s not usual in a club, that’s why we always try to deliver heavy beats and emotional melodies, when people come back home we’re sure they’ll remember that night for long time!

Q4. How do you learn to create tracks and the production process itself?

We produce since more than 15 years now so we learned by ourselves, making a lot of mistakes and learning from them. We don’t think that there’s a “right way” to do thing in music: the best thing is to do what you like, see how people reacts, and try to do better next time. Technically, we spend 10hours a day in the studio during the week so after a long time you learn all the tricks and you know all the functions of your DAW and plugins. Plus, music production changes quickly, and we really like to stay updated with new sounds and trends. For example, mastering is very different today than just 5 years ago. That’s an everyday challenge, and that’s what keeps our job exciting every day, even after so long. We never get bored of trying a new plug-in or a new VST synthesizer, there’s always something that makes you go crazy, so it’s not really a job for us, it’s fun!

Q5. Are there any artists in particular you would love to collab with this year?

We love collaborations and there are so many names we’d like to work with! But some of them are impossibile unfortunately – We’re very big fans of Zedd and Deadmau5 but they’re obviously on a higher level. We’re going to release something very soon with a very special female singer but we can’t say anything yet! So stay tuned and follow our next moves!

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

We love Japan and we can’t wait to be back! It’s been 2 years now, we played in Osaka and it was unbelievable – the Energy was epic, and the crowd loved our set! We also enjoyed some spare time in between the shows, of course we had the best sushi of our life, and we had fun walking around in the city. So we definitely can’t wait to be back in your country! See you soon!

Their talent and potential have been proved by Top DJs such as David Guetta, Carl Cox and Bob Sinclar and they gave huge support to the Italian Duo so far. Now, almost all their time is fully booked with festival and club in Germany, Italy, Australia, America, Brazil. So we hope we will going to see them very soon in Japan.
