Q1. Congratulation on your new release “The New Art Of Asia”! Please talk to us about your latest release and the inspiration behind it.

I’m so happy to having my interview with DJ Mag Japan, since 2010 I’m the first Chinese DJ to entered DJ Mag Top 100 ranking No.279.So hope my music can inspire more Asian DJs.

This is my best album included my classic hits tracks from last 12 years, which included my works included《Bells Of Tiananmen / Heart Of Asia / I Miss You Missing Me / Nanjing Express / One Night In Beijing /六月雪/ 古事記/ 梁祝化蝶》,these classic tracks I’ve released from 2006 in Spinnin Records /Black Hole Recordings & some tracks are from my Asia album《東方神迷》in EMI China Gold Typhoon Music, and some tracks remixed by World top famous DJs like “Andrew Rayel /Paul Oakenfold /Airbase /Oryon /Shaun Baker”,which my music dreams are hope to create a music connection between “East Meet West” to promo Asian dance music to the world.Since 2005 I started my music directions with adding Oriental instrument to mix with electronic Trance music to create a new trend call “Oriental Trance”,and I created my first “Oriental Trance” single call “Bells Of Tiananmen” & “One Night In Beijing”,then Spinnin Records signed this single & World No.1 DJ Tiesto has supported this track & played in most of his world tour & Tiesto “Clublife” at that time!

Also in 2010-2013 "Bells Of Tiananmen" was voted in Armin Van Buuren & Armada "Trance Top 1000" in the world. 2007,I remake a classic movie theme song “Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence (Heart Of Asia)” from Japan music Godfather “Ryuichi Sakamoto” & World No.1 DJ Paul Oakenfold has remix for this single & released by Spinnin Records too, this track also released over 40 compilations worldwide included “Godskitchen”.

2011,I released my 9th single "Nanjing Express" in Black Hole recordings, and this track has featured in Armin Van Buuren “A State Of Trance #519” as "Tune Of The Week" & this track also featured in Armin Van Buuren / Markus Schulz /Sander Van Doorn compilations too!

In 2012,I teaming up with China top singer Super Girl Competition winner Bi Bi Zhou (周筆暢) & released the single ”I Miss You Missing Me”,which remixed by World Top 100 DJ Andrew Rayel!

After my Trance journey from last 12 years, now I started to move my new style to Big Room /Electro /Trap /Hardstyle & most of my latest music are released by World Top 100 DJ “Vinai” label “ZerThirty” & Media Records.I’ll keep on adding Asia Oriental element to my music to push for Asian Dance Music to the world!

Q2. How do you describe your music?

My biggest career hit track is “Bells Of Tiananmen”,which this track with a very special sound from traditional Oriental Chinese instrument of “Gu Zeng” & this oriental sound mix into Trance music to created a special vibe that no one heard before at 2005 until now,I call it “Oriental Trance”. At that time no one ever try to mix these oriental instrument into Dance music, after this song came out, there are lots of DJs started to add different Oriental instrument into dance music. So I think I’ve created a new style & new trend for electronic dance music.

Q3. Can you pick 1 or 2 must plays in your recent sets and why?

The 2 songs I still played in my set are “Bells Of Tiananmen” & “Merry Christmas Mr.Lawrence (Heart Of Asia)”.Even now when I played this track in my show, the crowd still go crazy & all hands up in the air. This 2 tracks has most memorable melody & memories for Asian dance music!

Q4. Please talk to us about AWAKE more.

Awake Festival” is the large festival from China Guangzhou in Jan 20/21st & I’m the booking manager & help to organized this event,we’ve booked world Top 100 DJs like “Steve Aoki / Dash Berlin / Vinai / Aly & Fila / Showtek / Vicetone / Coone / Kryoman / Must Die /Jamaster A” in the DJ line up.Which 2 days festival we’ve over 15000 people attended, and this year will have 3-5 cities coming to do “Awake Festival” in China too!

Q5. What was your first impression of Japan? What was the most surprising or impressive experience? Something within your expectation?

My first impression are back to the date when I worked with Japan Music Godfather TK Tetsuya Komuro (小室哲哉) in year 2000-2004,at that time I’m the music director of his company “Rojam” in HK & I’ve produced & Remix many of his artist like “Namie Amuro / Y.U.M / Balance / Celine / Wendy Yip” & the single with my remix of “Namie Aumuro –Please Smile Again” had hit No.2 in Oricon single chart too.

In year 2014,TK invited me to his club tour in Japan in Tokyo “Club Vision” & Osaka “Giraffe”,we did very successful tour & the club was all full house & the crowd was so crazy.

But one sad news I heard that TK will coming to retire,so I’ll keep on supporting TK & hope he have a happy life in music world!

Q6. Please leave a message for your fans in Japan.

I hope my music can keep on release in Japan & touching a lots of people’s heart in Japan with my Asian music & emotion.I hope I can come again to Japan & do my tour & see my fans in near future & this year I’m working on a Japanese version of my song “Candle Light We Burn”,which this song is a Christian song & will sing by a Christian singer in Japan.See you all soon & thanks for your support!
