Cutting-Edge music producer and DJ Mike Mago’s label BMKLTSCH RCRDS called us and led us know that they will release music of Australian rising star, Alex Preston. Super busy representatives of BMKLTSCH RCRDS Mike Mago conduct interview to Alex Preston as interviewer and ask him about his future plan and resolution in 2018. We hope the interview will be something special for you.

【Mike Mago】For how many years have you been DJing and producing?

【Alex Preston】I've been DJing for about 10 years now. I got a Fostex 8 track recording machine when I was 15. I was able to record about a 2 min song so I used to have a drum machine and I would record songs on my guitars. So, I guess you could say I've been producing music for about 17 years.

【Mike Mago】If you could describe your music in 12,5 words, what would those words be?

【Alex Preston】Thought provoking, futuristic house music for the modern dance music enthusiast. Enjoy.

【Mike Mago】Here at the BMLTSCH office we truly love the way you combined the sweet soul vocal with the rough bass. Is this a style you’re going to develop more?

【Alex Preston】Yeah absolutely, I love old soul and blues records and I really feel that it's a sound that gels really nicely with bass driven house music. Definitely more of this coming from my studio!

【Mike Mago】In 1892, a group of 200 Australians unhappy with the government tried to start an offshoot colony in Paraguay to be called 'New Australia’. It wasn’t a big success. If you had the power to relocate Australia, where would you put it? why?

【Alex Preston】I would move it slightly closer to Europe and the rest of the world. Or maybe we could move the rest of the world closer to us? The weather is lovely here at the moment - 30 degrees, sunny, the beach is 200 metres from my house and the ocean is a beautiful 22 degrees! The world should definitely come over here for some of this! But to answer the question, definitely closer to Europe. Perhaps off the coast of Spain / France somewhere.

【Mike Mago】Ah that’s closer to Amsterdam, where the BMLTSCH office is. Is Amsterdam your favourite city? (Dare to say no!)

【Alex Preston】It actually is my favourite city. I've been there 3 times over the past 4 years and I love it. Such a nice vibe, everyone loves house music and so many great clubs. It's the only place in Europe where you can get a good coffee too which is my main vice. If I could move there tomorrow I definitely would! Just need to bring the Mrs and my cat haha!

【Mike Mago】My fav city is Montreal have you ever been?

【Alex Preston】No, I haven't yet but I've heard great thing! Would love to visit one day.

【Mike Mago】You were named one of the Top 10 Artists to Watch in 2016. Which artist would you name one to watch in 2018?

【Alex Preston】That would have to be Franky Rizardo, I love his stuff!  I think it's going to be a big year for him 2018!

【Mike Mago】You’re a resident at Pacha. Pacha is a Bulgarian word for whore, a mispronunciation of "pachavra" which means "slut" "trollop”  or “slattern”. What’s your fav record to play at Pacha?

【Alex Preston】I like to play a couple of classics in my sets and I loved playing "Praise You" - Fatboy Slim, it always worked at Pacha!

【Mike Mago】Australia has 3.3x more sheep than people. Are there any words you’d like to say to your fans?

【Alex Preston】I think New Zealand could beat us on the sheep to person ratio haha! I'd like to say thank you for their support! Can't wait to show them what's coming in 2018!

Not only Mike Mago but also Pete tong, Oliver Heldens, Danny Howard, Sam Feldt, Vanilla Ace and Alex, such as big artist have supported to Alex Preston and expected to his bright future. Alex Preston said at this interview “2018 will might be very important year for my career” and show his passion to start new exciting project.
